Left the Alyeska Resort to start our three-day drive to Dawson City. A little shopping in Anchorage, and then on to the Glenn Highway. Spectacular! Even if it was raining and we couldn't see the obvious highlights. Went to Ernesto's again, in Glennallen, for our third outstanding Mexican food meal. While getting gas, I began ogling a two-tank, tanker truck that was filling up the gas station's tanks. Struck up a conversation with the driver, Richard, who drives the route six days a week, roundtrip from Anchorage. Said an income of around $150,000 to $160,000 a year, with great benefits, was available for qualified drivers.

Here's our route that day, and some shots of Richard and his truck...

Camped out on next to the highway next to a river. Crazy heavy mosquito population. Slipped a bit the next morning on a muddy slope down to the river. No damage, but my elbow was sore for a few days.
